I am SO CLOSE to being done with the Untamed, and I have so many thoughts and even more feelings but -

I am always a sucker for those tangled relationships where the two people have hurt each other in unforgivable ways but also truly and deeply love each other. And this show gave me that in sibling form???? Like. If I had to pick a side I would always pick Wei Wuxian (that’s a lie the correct answer is Jiang Yanli who deserved so much better) but the thing is that he would always pick Jiang Cheng (unless, again, Jiang Yanli was an option, because if there is one thing those boys agree on it’s that she deserved better). And I am also a sucker for devotion and self-sacrifice and so I find his side of this mess much more sympathetic than Jiang Cheng’s, but!!! The point is both of their grievances are valid!!! But also they are always going to be in this together because they’re brothers goddammit!!!

Anyway I’m still in the middle of ep 48 so I don’t know what note they end on but if it’s anything other than brotherly devotion (as complicated and tangled as that is) I’m gonna riot.

Related: Wen Ning deserves a Nobel peace prize for getting Jiang Cheng to shut up and remember that his brother loves him. (tangent: I’m very sad they cut away from Lan Wangji’s face when Wei Wuxian started asking him if he knew any nice girls, but before he said he was looking for Wen Ning)

(Unrelated but I still have no idea how Chinese names work so apologies if I messed things up - Netflix’s subtitles are good but not great)
